Welcome to CELI. If you’re looking for an Italian language course that comes with official certification, you’re in the right place.

CELI is an official language certification recognized by the Italian Ministry of the Interior. The Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana (Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language) or CELI is issued by the University for Foreigners of Perugia and takes place on the same dates 3 times a year worldwide: in March, June and November. The CELI exams certify proficiency in the Italian language and are divided into six levels, in accordance with the guidelines provided by The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). CELI exams can only be administered by an authorized institution on behalf of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. In California, the official examination center is the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di San Francisco.
